TwinMesh can now import or export some basic geometry project settings. This allows to use settings and rotor profile geometry from external tools like Rotor Design Solutions Profile Software (RDS), which creates the rotor profile data for different type of positive displacement machines.
Allows to start TwinMesh using predefined settings or to include TwinMesh in an automated simulation workflow. You can start TwinMesh with a specified type of machine, import a geometry file or use a settings XML file.
The assignment of the geometry curve (rotor 1, rotor 2, …) can be predefined in CAD tool for IGES-file or in CSV-file.
The AutoNode tool for screw vacuum pumps helps to setup the mesh settings for highly twisted rotors. Depending on the geometry and the chosen angle step it calculates the number of nodes/elements for the mesh generation. This reduces the manual effort for the setup.
The exported solver settings are optimized to ensure numerical stability and reliability.
In our user portal you can find a comprehensive collection of new tutorials for each machine type to learn the fast and easy workflow using TwinMesh with Siemens Simcenter STAR-CCM+.
Additional enhancements
- Tabulated input data: In addition to the CSV-import it allows copy and paste of data from/to Microsoft Excel or other tools.
- 2D quality calculation: Shows the quality of each mesh section while calculation and not at the end of the overall calculation. (good for large meshes)
- Geometry points: Nodes can now be assigned to geometry points depending on the mesh section. This is mainly useful for rotors with sharp edges to control the node movement along the rotor curve.
